Aging In Place Specialty
what is aging in place?
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines aging in place as “the ability to live in one’s own home and community safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of age, income or ability level.” Aging in place refers to our preferred place of residence. Data shows that 91% of adults aged 65-74 prefer to remain in their homes as they age and yet only 10% of U.S. homes are ready to accommodate us as we age.
Here at Vallevue Home Improvement we recognize our homes are more than just shelter; they are where we seek privacy, gather with family, and host our most treasured memories. Aging in place should mean maintaining control and independence. Vallevue Home Improvement can help assure that your home is set up to provide a good person-environment fit through evidence-based information regarding client factors and activity demands. In other words, we’ll make sure your home will meet your need to maximize safety and function as you age.
